National Grilled Cheese Day!

Grilled Cheese

Last Friday, we celebrated one of our favorite unofficial holidays of the year, National Grilled Cheese Day. To commemorate the day, our team set up a build-your-own workshop in the kitchen. The setup included a selection of eight cheeses, four different cuts of meat, three packages of bacon, five loaves of bread, three sticks of butter and an assortment of fruits and vegetables. Everyone dove right in and created their grilled cheese masterpieces.

Our creations ranged from classic BLT’s to more adventurous combinations like apple, honey, baby arugula, Italian Fontina, bacon and prosciutto. For my own sandwich, I tried to fit every type of cheese and meat on two pieces of bread and hoped for the best. Surprisingly, it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever made.

Now only 360 more days until the next National Grilled Cheese Day. In the meantime, maybe you’ll be inspired to create these on your own.
