Starting in 2011, we worked with Postable co-founders Scott Potash and Jesse Blockton to design and develop an easy-to-use custom web app that simplifies the task of collecting people’s mailing addresses. The site launched in early 2012 and was an instant hit especially with soon-to-be-married brides, who appreciated Postable’s ease of use and its ability to print out mailing labels for their wedding invitation cards. Last summer, we embarked on the next phase of Postable: the Thank You Card platform.

In the afterglow of a wedding, it can be a joy to write personalized thank-you cards to family and friends for gifts received, but the actual process of handwriting each and every card can transform into a daunting task. Leveraging the existing mailing address functionality the new Postable Thank You Card platform introduces an easier way to write and mail cards for wedding gifts, baby showers, graduations and more. Our goal was to create something not only seamlessly effortless for the user, but also fun and enjoyable.

The new version of Postable features a Writing Desk that allows users to type up a series of individual messages with a selection of 20 different handwriting-style fonts. Yes, we know it’s not your real handwriting, but once you embrace the advantage of typing and editing your thank you message instead of trying to craft a perfect message by hand without messing up, you’ll get over the fact that it’s not your own loopy letters. The wonderful part is where you get to select a beautifully designed card for your recipients. Users can select from a curated collection of over 160 cards designed by top independent artists from all over the country including designs from Rifle Paper Co. and Fawnsberg. Every card is printed on 100% recyclable card stock, stuffed in an envelope, stamped, and mailed, so you can spare yourself from all the paper cuts and stamp-licking.

It was a pleasure to work with Scott and Jesse to expand on their vision. We worked closely with them to flesh out the designs and expanded on our custom build, integrating an e-commerce component and also a data feed for the card printing facility. The new version launched with a splash with coverage from TechCrunch and CNET. Try your hand at writing Thank You cards in a whole new way!
