During the summer of 2011, we tried our hand at creating a simple WordPress theme that would allow website owners to collect email addresses, offer unique referral links, and keep track of who sent more signups their way. We named this viral sign-up tool Launch Effect and released it as a free theme to the WordPress community. The theme became a useful tool for our client business and we used it to create fast, easy, and viral coming soon pages for various client websites.
A series of unexpected PR from the tech and startup community led to thousands of downloads and requests for additional features. In late 2011, we released Launch Effect Premium, which offers form building functionality and the ability to easily customize new pages.
